workaround for IE that custom check indicator does not appear

IE / Edge has some bugs related the parent's position property.

This PR is a workaround of #25696 (closed) that is a critical problem for windows users. I'm not sure that this fixes is the best solution, but I hope this PR will be helpful to many users.
