Correct example markup on tabs

The section on tabs (http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/javascript.html#tabs) tells me to use <ul class="tabs">, which does not work for me, but uses <ul class="nav nav-tabs"> for displaying the example. It would be helpful to have the example markup corrected.
