High Quality Launcher Icon
Created by: SecUpwN
I really do not want to put pressure on solving this or bust on anyone's balls (since we already have much more important things to work on), but due to the fact that higher density screens on both phones and tablets gain popularity, it's important to make sure our launcher Icon is crisp and high quality. For most users the launcher Icon is the first impression of our App. The first impression is important to me.
Following the Iconography Guidelines and the post on how to make beautiful App Icons I noticed that our App renders its Icons (the Status-Icons) a very tiny bit blurry at times - especially on xhdpi
, xxhdpi
and xxxhdpi
. I did inspect the source code and found out that we already have all Icons neatly lined up for mdpi
and hdpi
- but the other three sizes seem to be missing completely. Since I do have all the Icons as crisp SVG files, I asked myself if we couldn't remedy that situation through adding Tablet App Quality?
Furthermore, are we using Alternative Ressources as fallback option for specific configurations yet? At the very least, I want our launcher Icon to be as crisp as possible on all devices out there. Please guide me a little: Is it enough if I create the missing folders and place the Icon in its correct size into it?
NOTE: This Issue has LOW PRIORITY and I assign it to myself since I have all the crispy SVG files. I just would like @tobykurien to tell me if it makes sense to him if I add the App Icons for the missing sizes above. On the same thing, what to do about the other missing Icons for Map Viewer, Drawer and so on?
